Greens saddened by Senator Jeannie Ferris' passing

Greens Leader Bob Brown said today that he was deeply saddened by news
of the death of Senator Jeannie Ferris.

"She has been a strong advocate for the government throughout the Howard
years, an alert and quick-witted Whip in the Senate and an energetic,
up-beat and likeable character for all of us who worked with her through
the Senate and committee systems.

"Jeannie's death is a sad loss to the Senate," Senator Brown said.
