Message to Premier - join the celebration


"I call on Premier Alan Carpenter to join the celebration on the steps
of Parliament House and acknowledge that he is standing on Noongar
Land," Senator Siewert said. 

"This is a time to be celebrating the survival of the world's oldest
living culture."

"The Greens are strongly supportive of the Federal Court ruling which at
last recognises the Noongar peoples' continuing connection to their
land. It is disappointing that politicians in both the Labor and Liberal
parties are scaremongering, instead of celebrating this event."

"Today's celebration of the successful Noongar land claim at Parliament
House in Perth has national significance," Senator Rachel Siewert said.
