Campbell gets the message on Burrup
Senator Rachel Siewert has handed hundreds of signed postcards to
Senator Ian Campbell's office requesting that the Burrup Peninsula rock
art province be placed on the National Heritage List. 
"We understand that Senator Campbell will be in Karratha next week
announcing his decision on the Burrup Peninsula listing," Senator Rachel
Siewert said. 
"For several weeks I have been collecting signatures on a postcard
requesting the Minister protect the whole peninsula, to prevent further
encroachment by heavy industry. This is the responsible course by the
Minister, since all the evidence points to the fact that the State
Government has neither the desire nor the competence to look after the
place properly."
"This will be one case where the eyes of the world really will be on
Senator Ian Campbell - I hope he makes the right decision and gives this
place the protection it deserves."
