*Greens praise Steve Irwin as wildlife warrior*

The Greens have joined with people around the world in sending their 
best wishes to the Irwin family, while praising the work of dedicated 
conservationist Steve Irwin, as he is farewelled at the Crocosseum this 
morning.
Queensland Greens Environment spokesperson, and National Convenor 
Juanita Wheeler, said that Steve Irwin had played a pivotal role in the 
battle to protect wild animals and wild places in Queensland, Australia 
and around the world.
“Steve Irwin brought his passion and understanding of conservation into 
lounge rooms around the world, and this passion and conviction now lives 
on in the future generations of decision makers whom he has inspired and 
educated,” Ms Wheeler said.
“The change he has brought about in the hearts and minds of people 
around the world towards conservation is his great legacy.
“He truly was a wildlife warrior and a great Australian.”
The Greens thoughts and wishes are with Steve’s family, friends and work 
colleagues as they celebrate his life today.
