Minchin reveals government still in 'category 5 denial' on climate
change

Greens Senator Kerry Nettle today asked Government Senate Leader whether
the Prime Minister agreed with Al Gore that climate change is the
biggest threat facing humanity. Senator Minchin's answer revealed that
the last climate sceptics in the country at in the Federal cabinet.

"Senator Minichin appears to be in what Al Gore would call "Category
Five denial"," Senator Nettle said.

"The government's refusal to accept the facts on climate change is
threatening the live and livelihoods of millions of Australians whose
land, homes and work will be destroyed by the effects of climate
change."

Senator Minichin said,

	'We accept that the climate is changing' and there is 'evidence
of warming' and that 'CO2 plays a part' 

	We must focus on the "importance of adapting to climate change."

	"The climate has been changing since the globe was formed."

	"I make the point that not so long ago we had an Ice Age."
