Greens MP Lee Rhiannon at Wyong public meeting protesting against Kores coal mine

When:	7.30 pm, Tuesday 22 August 2006
Where:	Wyong Memorial Hall

Greens MP and mining spokesperson Lee Rhiannon said
“The Kores coal mine outside Wyong will damage our social fabric, degrade the local environment and add to the climate change burden that is affecting all our lives.
“We stopped the Awaba coal mine on the edge of Lake Macquarie and I am confident we can stop this coal mine.
“Tonight’s public meeting will send a strong message to the coal industry and the government.
“The government has to start working in the interests of the community and the environment and stop backing companies that send the bulk of their profits overseas,” Ms Rhiannon said.
