ACT Greens MLA Deb Foskey MEDIA RELEASE
=======================================

15 Aug 06

ACT Government follows Greens, slowly but surely

ACT Greens MLA Deb Foskey has congratulated the ACT Government for its preparedness to put some effort into increasing the supply of Affordable Housing in the ACT.

"Below is the motion I intend to move in the Assembly tomorrow. I sent a copy of it to Chief Minister's office last week. I note that the Government announcement on its taskforce picks up on many of our concerns."

"What is still missing is any commitment to an implementation strategy with concrete targets and timelines."

"The ACT Government has already run a taskforce and several summits on housing affordability in the past few years. It has never, however, committed to achieving any particular outcomes."

 "That is why I'll be moving the motion (see below) in the Assembly on Wednesday."
