The Greens select Robert Redman as Mitcham District candidate in the
2006 Victorian Elections
Blackburn resident, Robert Redman, has been selected as the Greens
candidate for the Lower House District of Mitcham in the November state
election.
"Better public transport is the only way to beat road gridlock in the
District," said Robert Redman.
"Residents and train travellers must get the best deal from the
Middleborough road / rail separation project. We must also urgently
fix those other problem railway crossings at Springvale, Rookes, Mitcham
and Heatherdale Roads. Another four years of inaction is just not an
option."
"Education is also an important issue in this election campaign," said
Robert Redman. "Maintenance of the District's state primary and high
schools is a priority and so is developing multi-purpose programs for
school facilities."
"The Greens are also campaigning to reduce the number of poker machines
in Whitehorse," said Robert Redman. "Gambling addiction is a big problem
for many people, so we need help them by reducing the maximum payouts of
machines and getting rid of ATM machines from venues."
“The Greens, unlike the major parties, are not beholden to vested
interests, ” said Robert Redman. “We believe that people, and the
future wellbeing of our communities, are the most important consideration."
A business graduate, Robert works for a property maintenance company.
