Tucker to chair drug law Forum

law, justice and drugs: canberra museum and gallery, 12 -2 pm today


Greens MLA Kerrie Tucker will today chair a public forum "Law Justice and
Drugs"at the Canberra Museum and gallery, from 12.00 to 2.00pm.

The forum is being presented by Families and Friends for Drug Law Reform as
a part of Drug Action Week.  

The forum will be opened by Bill Wood MLA, with speakers Richard Refshauge,
Director of Public Prosecution; David McDonald, Public Health and
Criminology Researcher; John Murray, ACT Chief Police Officer; and Joost
Dirkzwager from the Royal Netherlands Embassy.



Kerrie Tucker is the ACT Coordinator of the Australian Parliamentary Group
for Drug Law Reform, an Australian wide multi-party alliance of members of
parliament committed to progressive drug law reform. 

Other ACT Members from the previous Assembly include Simon Corbell, Gary
Humphries and Brendan Smyth. 

Members who have joined since the last election are Roslyn Dundas, Katy
Gallagher, Karin MacDonald and, most recently, Chief Minister Jon Stanhope.
