Hi all, & thanks to Mia and others for setting up this list.
Rachel's asked me to pass on this event for anyone who missed it. Be nice to get lots of greens along and remind the ACTU that this campaign's not all about getting Kev elected :-)
cheers,
Scott

Mothers Day Classic - Sunday May 13

This special edition of our newsletter contains a message of support from Sharan Burrow ACTU President

ACTU President Sharan Burrow will be leading a team in the Mother's Day Classic this Sunday in Melbourne, to support breast cancer research. The run/walk is an important community event across Australia raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

"The ACTU is proud to be associated with Mothers Day Classic and I am looking forward to seeing Your Rights At Work campaigners out walking and running to raise money and awareness for women's health this Sunday" says Sharan Burrow ACTU President.

Teams representing the Your Rights At Work campaign in every state will be wearing campaign colours to highlight the Howard Government's unfair industrial laws.

"Young women and working mothers in industries such as retail, hospitality and childcare have been very hard hit by laws that have cut their pay packets, public holidays and any right to a say in their rosters," says Ms Burrow.

"Just as all women have a right to high quality health care, they also deserve to have their rights respected and treated seriously in the workplace."

The ACTU president will be leading a team for the 4 kilometre walk in Melbourne.

On the day, Your Rights At Work team members will meet at the marquee of Members Equity Bank, the major sponsor of the Mothers Day Classic, no later than twenty minutes prior to the walk starting time (starting times vary from state to state).
